Maternity T Shirts
Samsung Cell PhonesI have owned a handful of cell phones in my lifetime and the majority of them were Samsung cell phones. ..... When I was pregnant I wanted to wear clothing that was inexpensive and wouldn’t make me look huge. But when I went shopping for maternity t shirts all I could find were shirts that were either cute but very expensive or cheap and frumpy. There is a trend going on with maternity clothes where designers try to make the clothes look hip. This is sadly not the way to go when you are designing clothing to cover a belly because that looks like it could explode at any moment, releasing an alien being out the front of that fashionably bohemian tie-dyed blouse. In other words, hip fashion looks foolish on a heavily pregnant mom-to-be.
I was shopping at gap online, trying to find some maternity t shirts that wouldn’t make me look like a Weeble, and I couldn’t believe the models they were using to show off the clothes. The women were obviously not pregnant because any woman who has ever had a baby knows that your belly isn’t the only thing about your body that changes during pregnancy. You retain water. Your face swells. Your arms lose their muscle tone and get flabby as you store away fat to prepare your body for nursing. But the girls on the gap site were markedly not bloated. They had ankles and thin fingers and some even had obvious cheek bones!
Flower Fruit BasketNot sure whether you want to send flowers or fruit? Why not send both in a flower ..... I headed over to the swimsuit section and that is when it became clear to me. The gap models were fakes! They were regular models wearing a clever belly pouches under their maternity t shirts and that was why they looked so fabulous in their fashionable maternity outfits. I don’t know of a single woman who would wear fashionably faded and distressed maternity t shirts while pregnant because when you’re pregnant your number one goal is to not look like a slob. I spent so much time when I was pregnant trying to make it through the day without getting stains on my shirts because having a huge belly sticking out in front makes you clumsy and it is hard to avoid spills when you’re trying to maneuver your newly acquired circus freak body around in the world.
When shopping for clothing for your pregnant body, you want to stay away from anything trendy because it will make you look foolish. What you want is clothing that is classic and comfortable and a bonus is if that clothing will also hide stains. A few maternity t shirts in solid colors and some comfortable maternity jeans or dress pants should get you through the final weeks of your pregnancy.
