Cordless Phone
Cordless Phone
My husband hates to talk on the phone. I'm not sure why, he just hates it. Perhaps he isn't a fan of the phone because he forgets where it's supposed to go when he's done with it. More than once a week, the phone will ring and as I reach for it, I realize that the cordless phone is not where it is supposed to be. I then scramble around trying to find exactly where it has managed to disappear to and often end up missing the call. It gets very annoying. How difficult is it to put the phone back where it belongs? In my household, apparently it is a difficult task.
Over the years, I've often wanted to thank the inventor of the cordless phone as the invention has managed to make my life so much easier. No longer do we have those annoying phone cords that we have to maneuver around other objects. We can take the cordless phone downstairs or upstairs and usually manage to have decent reception. I've even been able to carry on a conversation while walking out to the mailbox when necessary. I don't worry about missing calls when I'm out in the backyard because my cordless phone goes everywhere with me. My daughter has learned how important a phone is to a young pre-teen and if my husband isn't guilty of leaving the cordless phone out of place, I know to look for it in her room.
Nail PolishNail Polish Not all women enjoy wearing nail polish, and the colors people choose are as different as they ..... I remember my first cordless phone. I had asked for one as a Christmas gift one year and my parents were appalled. I'm quite sure that they didn't know anything about how it would work and why I would want such a difficult piece of technology. When Christmas morning finally arrived, I was overjoyed to find that they had overcome their hesitations and purchased me a cordless phone. After its first use, I was addicted. I couldn't imagine everyone not having one. I tried to tell my parents for years just how wonderful this cordless phone was and how much easier their lives would be. They were happy with their old-fashioned phone and content to drag the cord all over the place. Who was I to change them?
In my household, I have two cordless phones right now. The only time they are inconvenient is when the power decides to go out. Obviously, since a cordless phone's base plugs into the wall, it requires power. In a power outage, there is no communication via the phone. We have an assortment of cell phones in our household so I'm never worried that we won't be able to reach someone if necessary but for someone who doesn't have another means of communication, it could be rather scary. It's amazing how much easier life has become though since this modern day invention. Now, if I could find a way to teach my family to replace the phone after usage, my life would be almost perfect.
